We were looking for a school council that had an input into whole school issues. This could have included healthy eating, anti-bullying and any other issues identified by the school council.

Any school council from any of the schools in the Westbury Community Area can be nominated for this award.

• Isabella Carpenter – Westbury Junior School Council 

Winner – Isabella Carpenter

Isabella was a year 4 in 2019 who has been elected via class council to be Chair of the Westbury Junior School Council. This is the first time in the history of the School Council that someone this young has been elected. Under the leadership of Isabella the School Council were able to be self-sufficient and not rely on school staff to organise and shape the meetings. As a year 4 the school council will continue to thrive under her leadership moving forward.
